Sony – FX3

Sony have announced a lower priced video camera, the FX3. This video camera can take pictures but is a dedicated video camera. No viewfinder, only articulated LCD screen. It comes with a full frame 10.2 MP that is back limit using the latest Sony exmor processor. The exterior design uses the alpha design without the EVF and it comes with screws on top and bottom for mounting accessories and cages. Also, the buttons on top are video centric. This camera can take pictures up to 10.2 MP and video can shoot up to 4K 120 fps. To cool this camera when shooting, Sony integrated a cooling fan. Best of all, it does come with 5 axis body stabilization. The price is at $4k, which is cheaper than many Sony full frame cameras. Check it out!

Sony is taking on the Panasonic GH5 and Canon’s cinema line. While this camera can picture photo, most likely the user will use it as video camera. It is too bad that Sony did not add the EVF on this one, especially at that price. Also, I do not like that the body is bulky.
