40mm or less pilot watches are becoming uncommon as the trends of bigger size watches are in effect. Enter the Hawkinge. This watch is is by MIIK and made from Japan. It has a 38mm case, sapphire crystal display, stainless steel case, Japanese automatic movement with manual wind. Time telling has a sword style hand, navigator marker on 12 and minutes indices for each hour. When nighttime comes, it has the superluminova glow for easy reading. The watch won’t be available until October 31st but at $600, it certainly looks like a winner if you have dreamed of classic size pilot watches at a reasonable price.
I might consider this watch as I have been looking for a pilot watch at 38mm and IWC is too expensive. Also, it is automatic and manual wind which is great. Everything about this watch is great but will see when I see it in person.
