The cinch pack have normally been sold at performance or sports stores as many of them are used when going to the gym or carrying light items. Additionally, they can be given away for free as a gift as they are inexpensive to produce and manufacture. They can be found in schools, company item logos, and sport shops but none are ever found in the high end store. That is starting to change.

Lately, luxury brand such as Phillip Lim have been designing and carrying this item in their store but not with minor changes. Instead, of leaving it as is, he decided to made some major changes to make it look more luxurious. Phillip is not the only designer that has taken consideration of this item. When Alexander Wang and H&M has joined forces, they too also sold this item. Alexander Wang also had his take on this bag.

If two luxury brand have accepted this item, it will be no surprise that many more brands will follow suit. The next concern will be the price. How could something be simple and low tech, yet so expensive? Luxury brands have always taken this route. They carry the item in their name, instead of the item itself. As with many inexpensive items that becomes expensive, consumer will question its validity.

For now, the cinch/drawstring bag is trending to the luxury brands and it is only a matter of time when it becomes a must have.
