Oliver Cabell – Phoenix

This shoe by Oliver Cabell is made from recycled plastic. The process of turning plastic in to yarn is not new but there still not not a lot of shoe that are made form recycled plastic. The plastic yarn is refined and spun through a 3D printing machine to create the upper later of the shoe. The bottom sole is made of rubber. The features of this shoe are odor reduction liner, lightweight, microfiber tongue for softness and cooling and best of all, this shoe is machine washable. The Phoenix will come in black and white but the black colorway will have a white bottom sole. The shoe is now available at a cost of $100.

I like the way this shoe looks. I definitely like the way Oliver Cabell have decided to use plastic yarn so plastic can be recycled. Do not be mistaken as the process of recycling plastic also takes fossil fuels.
